Don't Catch What's Biting!!

Most of us know not to give out our ATM PINs, personal passwords, etc... by e-mail.  There is a new scheme called Phishing (pronounced "fishing") where hackers imitate legitimate companies, financial institutions, etc... over the internet and try and get you to give them your personal information.  Therefore, if you receive an e-mail saying you need to confirm your account information-DO NOT RESPOND OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS within the e-mail.  These links may have viruses or Trojan horses embedded within them that will assist the hacker in getting your personal information stored in your computer.  One safeguard to look for is to look for the "lock" icon usually located in the lower right hand corner of your screen.  If you unknowingly supplied personal or financial information, please contact the credit union immediately.
